What is a Counsellor?

Simply having someone to tell your troubles to can often be a great relief, but in the modern world people with the time and inclination to be good listeners are sometimes hard to find.

A counsellor is a trained listener who will not feel "put upon" or want to tell his or her own problems in return.

A good counsellor, however, will do more than just lend a sympathetic ear. He/she will help you to see and understand the process by which you can become trapped in your own issues and "unable to see the wood for the trees". This insight can often enable you to make choices instead of feeling, or being, powerless victims.

Counselling is strictly confidential and complete discretion is assured.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, physical disability, gender or sexual orientation.
